Good views yesterday of a redpoll stuffing itself on grass seed (Yorkshire Fog - Holcus lanatus) in Withens Clough. Other birds elusive in the wind and rain and sunny intervals.
No sign of the dark green fritillary seen a week ago, but lots of meadow browns and large and small skippers visiting bramble flowers going up lane at SD987234. (where the DGF was.)
HSS ramble. (Adjourned to Todmorden to visit an orchid site.)
