WALSDEN
One barnacle goose with Canada geese on Rochdale canal at Walsden. Near Bankwood House/Cottage, Lanebottom. Our son saw it at 2.00pm today and it's still there tonight at 5.30pm. It was sitting on the wall of the cottage holding court in front of a group of mallards.
There is a lone Barnacle Goose around that is often with Canada Geese. (There may be more than one.) I have seen it or another with the Mallards in Hebden Bridge, and at Ogden Res. Pam Rutherford says one regularly appears at Ogden Res.
Copies are available at £6.00 each from the GO local store at Woodlesford, Pellon price . Hopefully they will also be available at the Fox and Goose Hebden Bridge ,

I'm walking on that way tomorrow morning so I'll have a look and see if it's still around.

Yes Steve, I've seen the one at Ogden and even heard a couple of 'regulars' refer to it as Barney, but haven't seen one around Hebden as yet.
One at Ogden Tuesday afternoon
