Hi Jasono
I was up there about that time. Where exactly was it? Close to golf course?

This is a very good record of an elusive species in our area, any further info would be most welcome.

Was it opposite the Moorcock.?

According to info received from Steve Blacksmith who has checked with Jasono the location is "near Moorcock Inn beside road to Barkisland".

sorry , wasnt specific enough - didnt know area til just googled - longley lane behind moorcock. as you go down, last seen past house on left in scrubby area with newly dug earth and rubble- lost it- though probably went into wood on immediate right.

couldnt sex it as didnt have bins. initially flew across road in front of me, which due to undulating flight and size led to first reaction of chaffinch, which didnt feel right. on alighting in nearby tree it became apparent it was a lesser.

wasnt that bothered by my presence, although an attempt to get closer to sex it proved unfruitful.
