Barn Owl
A Barn Owl flew right infront of my Land Rover on my way to Marsden this evening (7.15pm), just inside our recording area at Vicar's Lot, Marsden Gate, Outlane. No mistaking this one, saw it face-on. Quite a surprise at 1110ft!
Hang on, thats not quite what I meant, the latest theory is that one of the main limiting factors in Barn Owl distribution is the lack of nesting sites rather than the lack of suitable foraging habititat. It could well be that we have the feeding habitat but no suitable nest sites therein.
Copies are available at £6.00 each from the GO local store at Woodlesford, Pellon price . Hopefully they will also be available at the Fox and Goose Hebden Bridge ,

Nice one! Lets get some boxes up, from a recent lecture at the raptor conference we might have more suitable breeding habitat than we think.
