The local birders trip to Malta to assist with Birdlife Malta's Springwatch Camp came to an end last Friday, full details of the camp, the Springwatch campaign and a diary of events can be found by follwing the links from www.birdlifemalta.org
The fund raising efforts of local birders led to the purchase of 12 pairs of binoculars and four telescope and tripod combinations which were shipped out to Malta FOC by Air Malta. The optics were donated to Birdlife Malta (2 bins and 1 scope) for use by their staff and also to the Administrative Law Enforcement dept of the Maltese Police (10 bins and 3 scopes) for use in their surveillance operations against illegal hunting. Both parties were extremely grateful for the efforts of everyone over here and asked that we pass on our grateful thanks. I would like to echo these sentiments and congratulate everyone who took part, I can ssure you that having been out there and seen the hard work that is going on the equipment will make a significant difference.

Hi Nick
Well done to you and the rest for you work at the spring camp. After looking at the links and movies its comforting to know that I only get shot at with Air Rifles at Cromwell Bottom and not the shotguns found by Spring Watch !
Always a sign you are winning when the opposition have to sneak around and commit vandalism. They have lost the argument and now they are losing the plot.
well done a very worthy cause
