The Grey Partridge is interesting. Mostly they are around Scammonden/ Booth Wood/ Rishworth Moor, from memory, i.e. to the south of our area.
Game birds I suppose are subject to the whims of shooters rearing and releasing them, though I was informed by my fishmonger of a partridge's nest with a large number of eggs in long grass on his smallholding in Greetland (near the rugby ground.) He couldn't say which kind of partridge.
