Pink feet
Two flocks of pink footed geese over Jumble Hole at 11:40am today, about 7 minutes apart. 280+ birds in the first flock, 240+ in the second.
Both very high up, and heading west. Sorry for the duff mobile phone photo!
When I picked them up they looked as if they may have come from the Midgley/ Thornton Moor direction. As they were so high up (and noisy!) you could well have seen them in Mytholmroyd.
Copies are available at £6.00 each from the GO local store at Woodlesford, Pellon price . Hopefully they will also be available at the Fox and Goose Hebden Bridge ,

Had at least 4 groups go over Midgley during the night.
For info, a big movement over East Lancs today. See ELOC website.
Cheers,
Bill.
Thanks for that, Matt,
One of our volunteers rang up very excitedly at 11.45am today to say he had just seen 4 flocks of about 100 birds.
Hugh
There's an interesting thread on Bird Forum today about the sudden movement of geese over the country.
Sorry I didn't go out on the terrace at work half an hour earlier than I did - I may have seen them then over Mytholmroyd?!
