Lidl bins
Just bought a couple of pairs of 10x50 bins from Lidl as Christmas presents, and for the the money (£9.99) they are extremely good value, and would be perfectly adequate for a beginner.
Hi Matt Glad you have given them the thumbs up as Sue has just phoned to say shes bought a pair. Are the scopes any cop ? By the way the small hand "microscopes" they flog are also excellant. Brilliant for looking over various inverts. The full size microscopes are also excellant if any one wants one for the kids. I bought one last year for £40 and it connects up to the computer so that you can see the images on your computer monitor
Steve Downing has suggested that if the scopes are of good enough quality we might buy a batch for the ALE on Malta with the money we raise, same goes for the bins also. I would value as many peoples' opinions on the quality of these optics before we go ahead, I will try and get to Lidl one evening this week but if anyone else can call and add their opinion this would help.
Hi Nick Don't hang around as they go quickly from Lidl. I think you can also buy stuff online from Lidl and this might be the best bet to get what you want. I have just had a quick play with the £9.99 bins and they look and feel a lot more expensive. If you paid 50 quid for these you wouldn't feel robbed.
Copies are available at £6.00 each from the GO local store at Woodlesford, Pellon price . Hopefully they will also be available at the Fox and Goose Hebden Bridge ,

Didn;t check the scopes out in any detail Paul, but I suspect they'd be good value too at £99.
