The grid ref for the Jack Snipe is incorrect. I checked this out last Sunday and flushed 9 Common Snipe from SD968184 i.e. 100 metres north of the north-west shore of the resr, and 100 metres to the east of the concessionary footpath to Byrons Edge. The Jack Snipe was actually seen at SD965181. This is approx. 100 metres along the Pennine Way (heading north), after the bridge over the resr outflow. It was flushed from the moor to the west of the footpath, where the path changes from an easterly to NW direction. If this sound confusing I can send a Google Earth Placemark to anyone who is interested sent to me by the finder of the bird Alan Nuttall). Steveatkins@tiscali.co.uk
Copies are available at £6.00 each from the GO local store at Woodlesford, Pellon price . Hopefully they will also be available at the Fox and Goose Hebden Bridge ,
