Fly Flatts

4 Twite this afternoon with one colour ringed bird - red over white/green on left and single metal ring on right. This is the same combination of one seen all last summer.
4 Curlew
4 Golden Plover
Red Grouse
2 Oystercatchers
2 Goosander south
2 Kestrel

Also, forgot to mention - several clumps of frogspawn in the channel to the left between the bridge and the overflow - though not a sign of a frog!
From Martyn Birder on two occasions this last week - a single female Stonechat at Fly Flatts.

Looks like the Twite are hanging around, will get some seed down Sunday which you probably did today.

Yes, we gave it a good scattering today, though we first found them in the fenced area by the overflow. We are not sure if they were there to drink or whether they were feeding in the longer grass behind the fence? We left them gorging on the Nyger seed neer the roundhouse.

There's loads of frog spawn and writhing frogs at Langfield...but no Twite :(

I think Tim must be getting all the Twite!
