Calder and Hebble Confluence

Went down to the Calder and Hebble confluence today.

On the river were 3 prs Goosander, paired up,
1 pr Mallard
Kingfisher
Moorhen
Little Grebe
with a Heron nearby not a bad selection of water-birds.
Song Thrush singing

(Tree Sparrows used to nest - one pair - in the stonework of the railway viaduct, but no sign today.)
The bright red fungus, Scarlet Elf-cap, Sarcocypha austriaca, a colony near the beehives, was showing well.
