It appears to be a female Reed Bunting, Mike. A pretty unusual record for a Brighouse garden !
Can you direct it up to Hove Edge ????

Great photo's Mike, we get an occassional Reed Bunting up on Widdop Rd above Hebden Bridge and like yours always seems to be a female.

Just spotted the Calderdale Birds blog today so logged in. Saw the photos (great pics by the way) and the comments on the female Reed Bunting - we get one or two Reed Buntings in our garden quite often (we back onto fields up by Stoodley Pike)and they are usually males. Maybe we can start a dating agency to get the females and males together?!
