Ring Ouzel

2 cracking males on Wholestone Moor this afternoon. 200 Golden Plover (many northern race birds) also there. Noticeable easterly and north easterly movement of LBB Gull (50+), 2 GBB Gull, 10+ Swallow and 1 Sand Martin during the couple of hours I spent there.

2 Oystercatcher flew west from Ringstone earlier around 14:00

More interestingly a Ringed Plover flew north over Elland Ski lake at 13:30 today. I picked the bird up as I was watching a mixed flock of Swallows and Sand Martin moving through from the south. It was again very noticeable that small flocks of hirundines were periodically moving from the south or south west in an east or north easterly direction.

3 LBB Gull and 1 GBB Gull also picked up moving east along R Calder.
