A couple from Mixenden that dog walk around the res were in the garage today saying they,ve seen the GND as if trying to take off a couple of times but going nowhere and are concerned about it being unable to fly.
Seems strange that its been there so long now unless its just the easy food.

Thanks it's great that there is concern about it. It certainly does a lot of wing flapping and preening Bri but it's not shown any sign of stress as far as I can see. Do you know if it was just wing flapping or was it doing a run as well? The bird at Mirefield stayed 6 months I think!

The Mirefield bird stayed at the fishing lake there from 12/12/2013 until 9/7/2014. Then we guess the same bird at Fly Flats on 9th and 10th July. !! I hope our bird isn't tempted to stay so long,

Its been seen to do one run when it was near the edge and a barking dog spooked it but it could have just been too near the edge to dive?
