Whiteholme and Turley Holes and Higher House Moor

On a walk looking for emperor moths (alas didn't find any, how frequent are they up here? It's the first time I've looked) birdwise was noted: three shelduck on Whiteholme Res', plus at least five common sandpipers here and six wheatears also. A sand martin flew over Whiteholme as did a raven.
Is it me or does their seem to be less meadow pipits on the tops this spring and none today were displaying.

Regards, Chris
