Wow, that Goldie flock is a bit of a surprise. Having seen flocks in the pastures a few weeks ago, and then hearing isolated calls coming from their breeding areas, I thought that they would have already settled into their breeding locations. Are these new birds arriving? Have the early flocks moved through the area? Have they re-grouped to wait for better weather?

No idea, but just as I was leaving they all flew off towards Greetland.

About 60% were in summer plumage
