Further to the comments on the original post asking if there were any more photos that may help id, here is a cropped image from another photo that may bear out Nick D's thoughts that the bright sunlight may be highlighting non-existant white tail feathers.

Initially it looked like a Pied to me too but now with this new photo I think I have to go with Spotted.
I tried to leave a comment earlier saying I thought it was a Pied but it is clearly a Spotted
