Jumble Hole

A single buzzard has been around again this week, after an absence of about a month. A stunning male sparrowhawk was perched in a tree in full view. And a kestrel is a regular in front of the house this winter.

I made a start cleaning out nest boxes yesterday, and the one that had the failed pied flycatcher nest in looked to have been disturbed. The eggs were still there a few weeks ago, but all that is left now are a few bits of shell. Presumably a mouse had got in and got a free meal.
