Swifts/Swallows/Martins survey

Records seem to have dried up in the last 2 weeks so please let me know if you find any more Swallow and House Martin nest sites. They can nest until the end of September (even feeding young into early October)!

Local Swifts seem to be on their way now as breeding has probably just about finished in our area except for a few stragglers. There will of course be birds moving through in the next few weeks.

Hi Dave. They don't nest there, but there was a huge concentration of martins at Eastwood sewage works this evening. There was certainly 250+, possibly well over 300. Very impressive.

Thanks Matt - I think it is important to log the main feeding areas as well.

New visitor to your blog so just spotted the info on this survey - swallows are nesting and have been for at least the 12 years I have lived here in the stables at Paddock Farm, Old Town Hebden Bridge. Been a particulaly successful year this time and I counted 20+ on the telephone wires at the end of last week. Not much activity this week in the rain and high winds! Hope this is of use.
