Lee Mount

After Vis Mig, I got home to find a Nuthatch on the garden feeder - been trying to get a photo for the rest of the afternoon!

Is that another garden tick Dave.

We have heard them in the park on 3occasions since 1974 - this is a red letter day to get one on the feeder. It's so quick I've not managed a photo yet. Sparrowhawk nearly had the male Bullfinch this afternoon - missed it by a split second!

I'm sure you know this Dave, but nuthatches are notoriously sulky. If you start to feed them, then forget to fill the feeders and they come to find them empty, they are incredibly hard to tempt back. I told my Dad this when he suddenly started getting a pair very regularly on his feeders. He forgot my advice, and one day didn't refill. They came, took one look around, flew off and have never ever been back. That was over 10 years ago.

great birds to have on the feeders Dave, we are lucky we have a pair coming daily but one on our Pellon feeder a few years back was a surprise

I'll probably see you vis-migging in a couple of weeks, unfortunately work gets in the way!!!!

Glad to see you out vis migging Dave and an excellent start yesterday. Your prediction of Yellow Wag came true and a good variety of birds. Wonder if NKs Yellow Wag at Ogden was the same bird or another passing through.

Just read NKs report, cancel the last comment about the Yellow Wag.

Any chance of a garden swop Dave ?
