dont let the looks fool you, this is a killer!
i was very kindly invited to attend the ringing of 3 peregrine chicks, this was the loudest of the 3,a very feisty male.a fantastic evening, many thanks to all that made this happen.the work these people do for free is a very worthwhile job,all concerned should be very proud of themselves.
As Darrel says all this work is carried out by a team of dedicated volunteers who as well as ringing the birds also take DNA samples etc to help deter falcon thieves. This work coupled with the surveillance carried out at all sites (again by volunteers)helps to secure the future of these birds in our area. These guys should definately be in line for "unsung heroes of local conservation" awards!
Copies are available at £6.00 each from the GO local store at Woodlesford, Pellon price . Hopefully they will also be available at the Fox and Goose Hebden Bridge ,
