EGPits

Anyone birding in this area is asked to look out for people with guns, as the shooting of wild birds is illegal.Around the fishing lake and in the surrounding woods are the main areas to keep a look out. Please call the police if you see/hear anything

This is an issue around the upper Boothtown and Ploughcroft(ski slope)areas and Shibden valley. Particularly mammals in the Shibden valley.

The police seem to take a dim view of any gun in public places these days. You could phone them to say not only are animals being targetted but they are shooting nearby to public rights of way. It is an offence to shoot within something like 20 yds of a right of way and in public areas. Mention of a gun or rifle ought to have the desired effect.
