Various sites 4th August

Had a wander around Mixenden Res'r, Stodfold and lower end of Ogden golf course. It was really hard work with not a lot about at all. Nothing on the reservoir
Green Woodpecker, adult and a juvenile at Stodfold was about the best I could do with a Great Spotted Woodpecker flyover.
A few Linnets, a Chiffchaff and a Willow Warbler.
Near the lower end of the golf course 3 Sand Martins still !. Hardly any other hirundines about at all other than a few Swallows and a House Martin.

Make the most of any Swifts you see in the next week or so. They will be gone shortly other than a few stragglers or migrants from other areas.

Had a go at getting a Sand Martin photo Dave, but it will not win any prizes!
Windy along the good track by the maintenance building these last few days, makes things difficult.
Green Woodpeckers are cropping up regularly now - always good to see 'em.
