Withens-Ogden new trees

I am sure you all know but 100's probably 1000's of saplings have been planted between the Withens and the gate in the track towards the golf course. I assume this will be good for bird species.

14,000 trees according to this website.
Oak, Beech , Silver Birch and I spied some Holly.
(Don't know if they will thin them out later - reducing the numbers?).

I think it will be very beneficial for a few years when the trees are small but as often seems to happen they don't get 'thinned out' as they get bigger and then perhaps not so good (??) Time will tell.
