Withens / Ovenden Moor

Fantastic views this morning from on the tops with mist hugging the valleys and in places drifting across the moors. This was the view from The Withens looking directly over to Swales Moor and Ringby Top.

I was up there doing the BTO - EWBS (English Winter Bird Survey). Part of a monthly visit December to March inclusive.
Not many birds about other than lots of Red Grouse getting very vocal.
3 Stonechats - different birds in different locations
2 Meadow Pipits
Not much else !

Met AT and ST heading off for the day having checked Cold Edge first for the Red-crested Pochard - still there today.
