Other news today

Common Scoter - female still today reported on BirdGuides at Blackstone Edge Reservoir viewed from the dam wall.

Lapwing flock with good numbers again today in fields between the Stone Chair roundabout near Shelf and Queensbury from Andy H. See Brian Sumners Blog for regular updates on the wintering flock at this site which has also had a good number of Snipe there in recent weeks along with Golden Plovers.
I'm still not sure if this is just inside, or just outside our recording area ?

The Lapwing fields are well inside the Calderbirds recording area Dave.
The area there also covers Queensbury golf course and the southern end of Littlemoor Park.
The northern boundry is Park Lane just below Tesco below the traffic lights and runs along the bottom of Black Dyke Mills .
