Rookery Survey 2009

The survey seems to be going well but we are probably into the last week, or two at the most, now the leaves are starting to come on the trees. Please carry out final counts at the latest the end of April and let me have details when complete. Thanks for all your interest and hard work in this survey.
Cragg Vale and the adjacent valleys up Cragg are the sites which have not had much coverage, also the Colden valley upstream from Mytholm in Hebden Bridge so if anyone one can check these areas that would be helpful. Nil counts are important.
Early indications suggest the number of nest will be about 2/3rds down on 1964 but the number of colonies remain about the same (but many in different locations)

David,
how do we know which ones you have had counts for?
Also you say many are in different places, which I'm sure is the case but you know what people are like for calling the same place by different names. I can't remember, did you ask for grid references?
Heard one in the distance which was new to me - somewhere near Howroyd House at Barkisland, but I guess Tim will have covered that one, and the one with 7 nests opposite where the Northfield pub was at Barkisland.
18 in the park on New Rd in the centre of Hebden Bridge.

Sowerby Bridge, on Sowerby Street, behind Royal Oak pub.

1 rookery, 10 nests, 5 active (ie 10 adult birds at dusk)

Also had a quick look round Norland and Longley as promised, but not found anything.
