Any thoughts on this bird seen in the long grass on Aug 15th alongside Castle Carr Road? On first site (head above the grass)we had it down for a Red Grouse! Then, on closer approach it did not flush but started contact calling and we located c6 3/4 day old chicks with it! Just didn't look quite right for a normal female Pheasant!!! Do keepers keep Black Francolins??? Any ideas.........?

there are some guineafowl keepers just below soil hill but i dont know if they keep black francolins aswell.
