Didn't know whether the info of is interest, but it sounds like it to me. Only seen these In northern Scotland. I have a photo that my son sent to my phone but I don't how to transmit it to anyone else.. They're in a very tight little 'bunch' .

A good sighting for this area Sandra. Very rare for Calderdale/ Bradford. June is usually the best month for inland sightings as they pass through. They are mostly nocternal on passage.
Thanks for the report , they had gone early evening so would have gone through unseen. BS

Thanks for that great information Brian. And here's us thinking that they may have 'roosted' on the water last night!

Thanks again

i would argue they not a rare duck in calderdale but quite common duck in late summer early autumn and should be expected on any reservoir,

Strange that nobody sees them Darrell. I get 2 or 3 sightings a year at Fly Flatts and very few get reported through the summer. Far from being a common duck.
