Swales Moor and Raggalds Flood

Swales - Ringby Lane late morning. Not a lot doing in the cold westerly.
1 Kestrel
1 Sparrowhawk
2 Skylark
1 Linnet
4 Stock Doves
11 adult Lesser Black-backed Gulls + loads of corvids but no hirundines

Raggalds Flood - it's just a field pond at the top of Bradshaw - drying out quickly
A call from BS late afternoon - just had time to head up there for the rewards of migrant waders..(thanks Bri)
2 Little Ringed Plover
2 Redshank
2 Wheatear
1 Sparrowhawk
1 Pied Wagtail

Glad the Sparrowhawk avoided the flood. Strange how this field attracts so much.

We could do with a few more landowners making some pools even if they were just on a small scale, instead of draining them. Even a small area like Raggalds can be so productive for wildlife.
