Cockchafer beetle

Don't know how important this is - but certainly interesting. A cockchafer beetle was found in our office this morning near to an open door. A first for me! It was put out in the garden. The website I looked at for ID says they're not common in the north of the UK.

Hi Sandra, nice find amazing little things, we were out moth trapping at hardcastle crags last Friday night and recorded at least 20 cockchafers.I think they are just under recorded. Or common in the right location. There is a pic on the calderdale moth blog.cheers

I recall finding one in the booking office at Hebden Bridge station when I was working there last year or possibly the year before. I confess I had to look up what it was!
