Halifax - Sainsbury's

No, not Waxwings but c30 Siskin this morning, flyovers went towards the trees at the back of the fuel service station.

Also if anyone reads the 'Independent' there was a very good article on the status of Kestrels in the country and some interesting observations on motorway verge populations in Britain compared with 20 years ago and a comparison with motorways in France. If anyone gets chance it's well worth a read!
Trying to see if there is a link for the article.

Thanks for the link Dave. Jen tells me that it says the old name for Kestrel is Staniel ( as recorded in Shakespears 12th night ) - how about that then for education !!!

Thanks for posting this Dave. When I started reading it I thought the web site had mixed up the articles because the first half of the piece is about 12th Night and Stephen Fry! I remember that last year we all agreed in group meetings that we were seeing fewer Kestrels in Calderdale - a trend that appears wide spread unfortunately.

A kestrel late afternoon landed on a lamp standard above the Burdock way a stone's throw away from the new Broad Street monstrosity.
