1 Common Buzzard >NE at 11.20 (bird has a pale tail base but it's not a Rough-legged!)
2 Curlew in the fields
c60 Lapwings plus another 40 >W
1 Common Snipe
1 R L Partridge
2 Skylark
400+ Starlings
c65 Fieldfare
2 Gt B B Gulls, 2 L B B Gulls and 7 Herring Gulls all >SW
Late for lunch today as too much happening!

A great day there Dave despite the weather, were the Crossbills on the cones at the edge of the plantation ?
Well spotted on the Gadwall, that could easily have been overlooked.

I walked into the plantation down the field side and just out the other side where it was sheltered. They were in the tops deliberately pulling cones off and carrying them to a suitable perch where they laid the cone level and stripped the seed out - fascinating!

There was a pair of Goldeneye there on Sunday.
The drake was feeding in with the mallards but the female kept its distance. Never been so close.
