Halifax Scientific Society Walk to Shibden Park 15.1.11

BIRDS:

Rookery - SE107257 - not reported in 2009 rookery survey - about 14-15 nests. Just above the playground.

5 Moorhen

c.40 Black-headed gulls

Mallards - far fewer than gulls

4-5 Robins singing

4 Mistle thrushes inc. 1 singing all day

10 Long-tailed Tits

1 Wren

I think we have the Rookery Steve. I have 12 active nests reported above the play area at SE 108258. It is on the most recent list I sent to the BTO last week - I wonder if I missed it off the one I took to CBCG? If so let me know and I will send you the update.Dave

Sorry, Dave, you did have it.
I saw one entry for Shibden Park for the depot barn and didnt notice the other two. Must have seen the name Brookfoot on the next line.
