Was one of them Rudolph the red-nosed roe deer?

A roe buck(few years back) jumped down from a wall just in front of me on the canal bank at Tenterfields, nr. Luddendenfoot. Without stopping, after it saw me, it dived into the canal, swam across and galloped up the field on the other side to hide in a small clump of trees next to Burnley Rd.

Fantastic that we have deer in Calderdale now, but some people say "trouble" when they are mentioned. Newcomers - must be up to no good.

well it wasnt pulling a sleigh...

great views of them. they saw us (bout 6 of us + 2 dogs) and didnt really move just stopped and watched us pass from about 100 ft away. i think a lot of the fauna is struggling for food and conserving energy- been able to get real close to a lot of birds. saw woodcock almost straight after the deer....
