Gorple & around.

Pair of Whooper Swans on Lower Gorple Res. Several hundred Fieldfare in the heather & in flight (no Redwings); SEO; Merlin; small flock of Long Tailed Tits; Goldcrest; lots of Mipits & Red Grouse; plenty of Wrens - hardy little chaps.

The Hen Harriers which were roosting in the area seem to have moved on - or been moved on? Any sightings, please let me know: timeatonwalker@msn.com .

We usually get migrant and/or wintering HH up there - though there's no reason why they shouldn't breed? The more people that know, the better their chances of survival. Get up there & watch!
