Any side on pics of top plover Pete. I don't think head pattern rules out juv ringed plover. No sign of LRP pale orbital ring though I know these muted a bit in non breed and juv LRP. and maybe in imperfect photos.
Thank you Mick: I'm sure you are right. I've deleted all the photos I didn't post. I didn't think the amount of white on the forehead was quite right for LRP, but dozily didn't think of juv Ringed Plover. And I should have checked properly for a yellow eyering. Too excited about seeing so many waders together in Calderdale!
I should have said 'orbital ring' and 'Halifax Birdwatchers Club recording area'.
