Ringstone Edge

Curlew: adult and juvenile. The birds seen 2 days ago are still here. I think I was wrong to label them as Whimbrel, (so far south of North Scotland!).

The adult does have a thin pale central crown stripe, pale supercilium and dark lores. But the curve of the bill is quite even, and a BTO video says that Curlew sometimes have a pale supercilium.

The juvenile also has a pale supercilium (clearer on photo 4, 22 July)
