Interesting..the reason they dont go anywhere on winter is because they are reliant on nyger seed...?? I still dont understand why we feed them in the winter months..when historically they left the area..??

I can't speak for the whole area but the region I used to walk regularly suffered more and more from human/dog walkers disturbance as time went on. Despite putting up signs during the breeding season asking people to keep to the paths and keep dogs on leads, I saw dogs running through the vegetation on many occasions. Just another nail in the coffin to add to the other contributing factors as to why Twite numbers have fallen so badly.
