Mixenden Reservoir

Early afternoon
3 Goldeneye (1 drake)
1 Cormorant
1 red-head Goosander
c500 Woodpigeons  disturbed in the roost, many flew off towards Ogden
c45 B H Gulls
10 Common Gulls

Elsewhere - 80 Canada Geese at Cold Edge but no sign of the Barnacle Geese - not much else.

At the other end of Calderdale yesterday afternoon there was a smart male Goldeneye on Lee Dam, Lumbutts giving good views on the still water. A couple of female Goosanders and two drake Teal with him. Calls of an invisible Moorhen in the rushes echoing round the trees.

Thanks Steve. Goldeneye seem to like that spot as they do at mixi. I think the reservoir is shallower than most so they can access food more easily.
