Swales Moor and Hunter Hill

A good move of Woodpigeons (937), Redwings (348), and  a few Starlings (240), Chaffinch (22), Fieldfare (1)  this morning between 08:15 and 09:30 mainly all >W and >SW plus a few other species in much lower numbers.

This afternoon I had a check on Hunter Hill (between Wainstalls and Mixenden) but couldn't find much other than a Little Owl on Balkram Edge and a Cormorant on the reservoir.

BS fared much better with 2 Ring Ouzels at Fly Flatts thereby continuing his 'purple patch'. A scarce migrant especially on autumn passage as they head back to North Africa for our winter. Well done Bri and thanks for the lift back down from The Withens. See West Yorkshire Birding blog for further details.

Good to see you up there Dave. Todays Ouzels were only the 2nd local record I,ve had of autumn birds. Usual spring migrants.
