Soil Hill and Mixenden Res'r

Soil Hill this afternoon was rewarding with a flock of 9 Snow Buntings present until at least 3 pm. Unfortunately it was too windy to get any shots of the birds which include at least 5 males. This afternoon they favoured the mounds and the bare field 100m to north east of the mast.
c8 Skylarks also present mainly down the north slope along with 1 Pheasant.

Mixenden Res'r
1 female Goldeneye and B H and Common Gulls present
9 Goldfinch
23 Magpies

Great stuff Dave, just as we we,re saying they had gone, wonder if this is part of the same lot or a new group in. CK had about 20 a few years back up there so there,s time for them to build up yet.
Well done for venturing up there today.

Sorry Jim, only just seen your request! They can be anywhere on the top but the best spot seems to be just on the bare ground/edge of the longer grass just go up the track then to the right just after the mast. I dont think any seed has been put down as there is so much natural food for them there but some seed will obviously not go amiss and might encourage them to stay longer?!!
