Luddenden Dean
Had a good scout around the upper end of the dean this afternoon in the hope of Redstart, but nothing doing on that score.
2 Blackcaps, a few Willow Warblers , a Common Buzzard distant and not a lot else. No sign of the Cuckoo, though many of the satellite tracked adults are already well on their way back to Africa.
Bumped into you this afternoon David whilst I was cycling through Luddenden Dene. I always check - daily - the posts on here, I have a passing interest in all of nature - just never seem to be as good at remembering or recognising plants/birds/insects like you and your associates. Hopefully you'll get lucky another day with the Red Start.

I've not heard a cuckoo down there for the last few weeks now. Sorry to see you have the same luck as me with the redstart.

Good to have a chat as you cycled through MC. Might meet you up there again sometime.
