Jumble Hole, 2:00pm
Quantity, rather than quality today.
- 16 siskin in an alder. Never seen more than 2 here - 235 jackdaw was a higher than normal count - 110 bh gulls loafing around the sewage works - a single jay
There are loads of Jackdaws about Matt - perhaps a good breeding season last summer. A lot were heading over Ogden late afternoon -wonder if there is a roost of corvids just over Bradford side?
There's a huge corvid roost (mostly jackdaws) at this time of year at the bottom of Cragg Vale, near the caravan park. Last year there was around 1,000 as I drove past one day. If anyone is passing late afternoon it's quite a spectacle.
