Blackstone Edge
Can anyone see enough on these photos to identify these 2 waders? They were taken at the limit of my 30x zoom pocket camera. Sanderling?
Hi Peter Difficult to say from these photos I'm afraid. I would say though that the bird in the top photo seems to show a pretty distinctive white shoulder, at least so much as I can make out. Assuming that is not an effect of the light, that would make it a Common Sandpiper. That said, it is difficult to tell much with certainty really.

Thanks Daniel. I think you are right. I'd put the pale legs down to the bright sunlight, but Common Sand makes more sense. Pete
