I've been puzzling over the dragonfly Dave. From the thickness of the black lines on the side of the thorax, could it be a Migrant Hawker?
It is Peter a Southern Migrant Hawker
Hi Guys. Nice shots but the dragonfly is a Southern Hawker, the large yellow spots on the Thorax behind the eyes are diagnostic of this species. Southern Migrant Hawker is an extremely rare migrant and Migrant Hawker, whilst can be abundant, is normally on the wing during August and September.
Cheers Daniel Im not great on Dragonflies but I wasn't far off lol
