Woodcock - Withens
For the second time in a week I have flushed a Woodcock off the bridleway above Ogden GC near the Withens. I was within a metre before it flushed. It made me jump as it was well after dusk. I thought they would be sheltering in wooded cover now?
Always special birds to see even though often briefly. Think they like wet ditches and the gf course is a favourite. Sometimes see them flushed by golfers with a lost ball in the bushes or the rough !!
