Waxwings at Sowerby Bridge
About 20 were feeding for an hour this afternoon on the canal bank opposite the Moorings pub. Could be back tomorrow as some fruit left. (Said to be rosehips.) From C.Priestley, a boat dweller there.
I checked the place the day after, as well, and none there. I did confirm that they had been feeding on rosehips, smallish ones, something I had none heard of before. (I am interested in relationships between birds and plants - ornithobotany, for want of a better word!)
